The Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT) provides a forum for the discussion of activities, programs, and problems in intellectual freedom of libraries and librarians. The IRRT promotes global interest in library issues, coordinates international ALA activities, develops programs supporting international objectives, and provides hospitality and information to foreign visitors. Committee reports are submitted to the executive board before Annual Conferences. Each committee posts their reports in their ALA Connect spaces. COO committee memberโs initial term is for two years and may be reappointed for an additional two-year term.

The Rainbow Book List is created by the Rainbow Book List Committee of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Round Table of the American Library Association. The LRRT aims to extend and improve library research, and to provide public program opportunities for describing and evaluating library research projects, and for disseminating their findings. Please note, members can only serve on up to three committees across all of ALA during any year. A track record of excellent service on process (non-award) committees demonstrates that you will be a diligent and trustworthy award committee member. Process
To be reappointed for a second term, you must fill out the volunteer form. A task force is an action-oriented membership group whose charge is to address specific goals, complete a specific task, or to consider a particular issue. There may be a designated time frame defined by the nature of the task or set forth in the function statement. This willingness to help our association and contributing skills and expertise to process committees illustrates the ability to serve ably and responsibly on the intense and visible award committees. Even committees that meet face-to-face, include some virtual positions (members exempt from attending conferences), and several more that are required to meet face-to-face at Midwinter and Annual Conference.
